Confucius Institute at USC participated in the Overseas Study Tour Promotion Expo
On September 28, 2018, Confucius Institute at University of South Carolina (USC) participated in the USC Overseas Study Tour Promotion Expo at Russel House.
Held annually in spring and autumn semesters, the Overseas Study Tour Promotion Expo is an important event to promote overseas study programs for all departments and colleges throughout the university. CI participated in this expo to introduce Confucius Institute's overseas study programs and other cultural activities – the winter camp project to visit Beijing and Shanghai as well as a package of scholarship projects, etc. The spectators were fascinated by the exhibition of Chinese-featured ornaments and gifts, such as panda dolls, bookmarks, bamboo slips, etc. Many students showed great interest in the winter camp program and scholarship programs. Some asked for contact information on the spot to sign up for winter camp activities and some immediately contacted our Confucius Institute after the event, expressing their strong desire for Chinese language and culture, expecting to get more information about the 2018 scholarship organized by Confucius Institute. The Confucius Institute winter camp enrollment activities turned out very successful as the number of students enrolled greatly exceeded the maximum number limit for winter camp.
From its onset in 2008, the Confucius Institute at USC has organized 9 winter camps. This project has enabled over 180 American students to gain valuable insights into China and experience China and has won many praises from students. The Confucius Institute at USC will spare no effort to promote cultural exchanges between China and the United States.
