The Confucius Institute and the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, offer the following courses: HSK Test Tutorial, Traditional Taiji ( Tai Chi) Quan, Chinese Calligraphy/ Painting. The faculty at CI is among the best Chinese language education specialists with Ph.D. degrees and over ten to twenty years teaching experiences in the U.S. and around the world. We will offer small classes (minimum 5 students) free of charge. Courses open to anybody in the Columbia area.

Chinese Painting & Calligraphy Class 
Intermediate Level

This is a continuation of the beginning painting and calligraphy course offered last year by the Confucius Institute.  Our focus will be on developing the ability to recognize different styles of Chinese painting and calligraphy.  The instructor will provide model paintings for students to appreciate and analyze, and then they will learn to paint different elements from those model paintings.  There will also be more discussion of calligraphy, with an emphasis on incorporating calligraphy into the paintings.
